I cannot believe I am done with GMAT.
I first gave the test on Monday, July 2 and got 660 39Q41V. Gave the test again on Friday, August 31 and got 710 47Q41V.
I am happy with the score but know that could have done better in verbal.
My first attempt I completely messed up Quant. Didn't time myself properly and just had 2 minutes left for 10 questions. It was all I could do to click on any answer and confirm. Didn't really care about verbal after that. I had given myself a month to study for this attempt. Bought Kaplan (which I did not touch after reading reviews on this forum) and
OG 11th edition. I completed the
OG - all quant questions. Didn't do verbal at all as I was doing well in GMAT Prep and didn't really have time. I knew Quant was my weak point.
GMAT Prep 1 - 710
GMAT Prep 2 - 720
Don't remember the score breakup but I remember my verbal was excellent around 45-47 and so I was not worried at all. Quant was horrible and so I was just concentrating on that. When I saw 660 on the actual GMAT I couldn't believe it. Did not expect it to be so bad.
I had family visiting for almost month and a half after that. Finally got back to studying around mid August and had to take the test by the end of the month as the deadline for one college app. is in September. So gave myself 2 weeks.
For the second attempt just concentrated on Math. Got the Princeton Review - Quant...did the whole book. I think it helped and did some questions for this site. Didn't have time to do any tests this time around.
Was slightly nervous for the second attempt. I thought Quant was going well as the questions were getting quite tough. But didn't think much about it. Had to guess on the last two questions as didn't have time to complete them. Verbal also went fine though I felt that I should have practised some questions for the second attempt as I was not sure of the answer on a lot of questions.
The few seconds it takes for the scores to come up on screen were the longest of my life. 710 was a relief. Was very very happy with Quant but a little bit disappointed with Verbal.
Oh and my first AWA was 5.5 Waiting for the second one.
But it is done now and I can give away all my books and throw away all scratch paper I used....feels good!!
Thank you to everyone who posted questions and the solutions on this site. I have recommended the club to all my friends who are planning on taking the GMAT.
