Well, the response I gave was the exact one that Haas gave me. The receptionist asked me to send my promotion/raise info to her and she printed it out and gave it to the Adcom. No guarantees, she said, that the info will be used to determine an admit.

I don't know how important a raise/bonus would be though. I mentioned the promotion because it showed fast progress at the company. Dunno if that was the reason I got an interview invite or not...

Hmmm. The bonus might be worth mentioning to them, if only because I entered a different (lower) number on my application. Will think about it...

I dont think they care about pay or bonuses really...unless its a performance bonus, specifically for your performance not company wide. A promotion is completely different and warrants passing the information along.

GMAT scores, stuff that improves your profile are worth sending if they accept it. Some schools are very adamant about NOT getting anything else from you, so find out about a specific school.

Mine was in fact a performance bonus, specific to me and my work. Eh, maybe I'll let it go. Starting to get obsessive, I guess...

I actually don't think it matters much all all. Stuff like promotions and raises/bonuses are quite hard to verify, i'm sure a lot of people just make stuff up or exaggerate, so whatever you say to them I'm sure adcom only takes it with a grain of salt.

Stuff like higher GMAT score, a class where you got a grade in, 100% verifiable accomplishments such a paper that's published, etc, yeah those definitely send in and they should help a bit.

I recently completed a financial accounting class at a local jr. college (to help compensate for my lack of quantitative classes in undergrad) and sent my final grade to admissions at the schools I have applied to. Two of the schools replied and thanked me for the information. The other two schools didn't respond...not sure what to make out of that.

Yea.. I read though some of the schools I have in mind.. seems like it could work out ok. Just would hate to wait for round R3 when good things could happen right after the the R2 deadline...

I figured as long as there isn't too much time between submission and an update it could be ok.

That has worked for Stanford, Haas, and UCLA for me. Hope that helps!

Has anybody ever tried it for MIT and Tepper?
