Re: ETS' 3 New PBT Tests - My Feedback [#permalink]

As some of you may know, ETS has recently posted 3 new paper-based GMAT tests on its website (https://www.mba.com/mba/TaketheGMAT/ToolsToHelpYouPrepare/GMATPrepProducts/GMATPaperTests.htm).

First of all, please don't ask me to post the tests. I won't - my name isn't Kazaa (but I'm sure you'll find them there eventually).

I decided to shell out my $20 for them, and having written the GMAT once already, I can honestly say that they are not worth the money. The tests are in PDF format - two from 1995 and one from 1997. You can download them immediately after you give them your credit card. The format of these tests intersperses Verbal and Quant sections (16 RC, then 20 DS, then 20 SC, etc.), so it's not really like that CAT.

- Test #14 is completely from the OG. Completely. And from the easy sections too (i.e. early numbers in each section).
- Test #31 has some questions that are slightly differently from the OG, but seem very familiar...and the entire DS section from this test can be found in the links archive (if you're an Active Member) or other sites like https://www.downdowndown.net (just click around if you can't read Chinese).
- I haven't looked at Test #55 yet, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Basically, I can say that the difficulty of the Quant questions is just too low on these paper tests to be useful. And since the format is so different from the CAT, I don't feel they add any value other than serving as additional (and easy) practise questions.

In a nutshell, save your money folks. Anybody else want to share their opinion?

Do you think that all this GMAT+ stuff from downdowndown.net is 1) usefull 2) more usefull than these tests from ets website?
