I respectfully disagree regarding Chicago's yield that year...if they didn't disclose it, that means it was reaaaallly low and too ugly to be made public. I would imagine low 50's or, god forbid, even 40's.

This doesn't say anything about the quality of the school or the admitted students, which i'm sure is top notch. Just probably a bad year and bad luck. Personally I know a ton of people who chose other schools over Chicago that year, probably just by coincidence. That's the nature of yield, you can't always predict it 100%.

This year Chicago's yield will be much higher.

I think I got the 65% off some consultant's site, but I can't find it again... I know that Chicago generally does not release their admissions numbers in the past few years... so if anyone has any idea, let us know.

Yale 06 seems low; that was the year their yield was higher than expected and they had to bribe admitted students to defer a year (in exchange for half-off tuition).

those of us applying to Yale last year were going for a smaller class size (they shrank their class size that year too) where there were already about 30 students from last year's accepted students.

This is entirely accurate. They were over 50% in 06...i remember one of the admissions reps mentioning this although i don't have proof.

well, this is the number that BW reported... so they must have messed up Yale's 06 numbers somehow...
