Hi guys,
I had been planning to give the GMAT for quite some time and found it very hard to hit the books again. However based on my profile i did need 730+ for a shot at top5 . Then again quant was never ever an issue except for careless mistakes and verbal did not seem to make much of a change. These 2 weeks or so i finally had enough of it and booked a date for the test. My experience was that quant seemed to throw up some tough surprises, specially on geometry and verbal was pretty queer.
My test centre was a 2 hr train ride from home, hence in all my wisdom checked into a hotel the night before. All night i was up listening to the sound of trains passing by, ona couple of occasions even sat up wondering if the train was gonna drive through the room. However all's well that ends up decently.
Since GMAT score is not exactly the core of my app strength i wanted to cross all entry barriers, hence satisfied with a 740.
Q 50 95%
V 40 91%
Overall 740 98%
In chronological order :
PP1 : Q 48 90%ile V 40 90%ile Total 710 95%ile
Did OG and kaplan verbal
PP 2 : 740 ( Q 50 97 percentile ; V 41 93 percentile )
Kaplan Diagnostic : 700 ( Q 47 (25 correct 1 wrong ) ; V 40 (21 C 6 W) ) : 98 percentile
Kaplan CAT 1 : 670 ( Q 50 ( 31 C 6 W) V 36 (27 C 14 W) ) : 90 percentile
Did some of Gmatplus and some SC from 885 SC
Kaplan 3 650 ( Q50 (C 34 W 3), V 36 (C 29, W 12) )
Kaplan 2-640 ( Q50 (C34 W 3), V 33 (C 27, W 14) )
