Hi all,
I have just took my GMAT and I score really bad on verbal section.
One of my problem is reading too show and using too much time on finding out each correct answer. As a result, I can just finish 31 of 41 questions on all 75 min and guess the remaining 10. I will take the GMAT again two weeks later and I would like to ask for the stragegy on time management.
1. According to Princeton Review, your score is almost designed after the first half questions and the remaining will only affect your score a little bit. That's why I use most of the time on the first 30 questions and guess the remaining. I would like to ask if it is true? Or in what way GMAT score on each of your correct answer?
2. Or I should change my stragegy: I use exactly 41/75 minute on each question, even if I still cannot find out the most suitable answer. So as to ensure all the 41 questions are answered on time.
3. Can anyone suggest me how to improve my verbal skills as much as possible in TWO weeks? Do all verbal questions in this forum? Do as much questions in this two weeks as possible? I just target on 20-30 marks on verbal, since I get 49 on quant.
Of course I know speed up my reading is an essential solution. But I have only two weeks left and therefore want a quick way, like changing stragegy, to rise my GMAT result a little bit.

You are right that two weeks is a bit too short to improve on RC. If your target is 20-30 on verbal I would suggest you browse over other people's strategy for SC and try to get that improved. You could also find a lot of good practises on how you should proceed to go solve a SC and CR question in the Verbal question forum.
For reading, my only recommendation is to limit your timing. If you are not going to get them right, then the least you can do is not to waste too much time for the wrong answers. My experience is half (2 out of 4, for example) of the RC questions would be at the relatively easy level. You should try to get those right. For the later harder ones, you could skim the passage and try to make educated guesses, while limiting the time so that you'll have more time working on the others. I wouldn't recommend pure guessing on the last 10 questions. You should at least leave some time so that you would be able to eliminate some obvious choices before your guessing. The argument that your score won't change much after first 1/3 or 1/2 questions should be interpreted like this: The difficulty is more or less determined after the first 1/3 or 1/2 questions so if you do badly for those you don't have a chance to get back to the high score range. However within the same range you'll still have different scores. I don't believe that you'd get exactly same scores you did half of the last 10 questions right as if you didn't do any right.
