Sorry guys, you were all wrong.

OA is D!

Here much is incorrectly applied to ministers (ministers can be counted). It would have to be as many as in 1977. Another way to make the comparison emphasizes the number 20736. D is the correct choice.

Actually the best explanation to dismiss C is that C introduces a clause, not a phrase. Because the clause is not linked to the main clause with any conjunction, C must be wrong. C is actually a run-on sentence. You can find more in some Paul's explanations.

IMO - Double is to be chosen for verbs rather than nouns.

D -Violates this rule.

A,B,E - Incorrect.
Between C & D
D is correct.

Reason: What does 'It' refer to in 'C' is not clear.
