First the good news: I got accepted to all 3 B-schools I applied to.
Rotman (University of Toronto)
Schulich (York University)
DeGroote (McMaster University)
It’s been such a long application process but it paid off in the end
The bad news is that it’s so hard deciding where to go!
A quick overview of my situation: my background is in Computer Science and I’m interested in a career in Finance. I’m leaning towards Risk Management and Financial Engineering as my specialization, ultimately down the road I would like to become a trader in Bay Street or Wall Street.
McMaster is out of question because it’s no where close to the other two by any standards, it was basically my safety school.
Schulich has been very solid in the rankings and has a very solid program in finance. It will also cost me much less with a lower tuition and a scholarship they offered me.
Rotman seems to get a more favorable response from my contacts in the financial industry here in Toronto and overall appears to have a better finance program. They also have a “Trading Labâ€
