Hi - basic question: for INSEAD application in ’activities and interest’ do we need to add start and end date or leave the dates blank? Applying for R2. appreciate your help.

Yes I did mention the start and end date. The date wise accuracy may not be that important but the month or the year should be fairly accurate.

First off, huge thanks to all the ones here that are constantly sharing knowledge towards a common goal!

Let’s jump into INSEAD’s application. In 2024, recommendation letters DO NOT have an specified word limit.
One recommender asked me how objective or broad should he be. He got me on that one.

1 - What are you thoughts on this?

2 - How many words should all the 6 questions have?

3 - is there any maximum limit per question NOT RECOMMENDED to exceed? (Aka 500 words)

In general, I have seen somewhere around 1500 words in total; around300-400 per big question and 100-200 to the small ones.

INSEAD is my only choice, so I am hugely grateful to anyone willing to help :)

All the best to all of you. Wishing you luck on your application!

Does anyone who has already had their interviews have any advice on what to expect/what interviewers are looking for?

Also if someone can share their thoughts on this - Will asking for an early decision affect my chances?

I do not think so but I could be wrong. Let others chime in

It depends. Since every alumnus will be different. Both my interviews were very conversational and candid. Of course prepare the basic question such as Why MBA, Why INSEAD and Why Now. but the rest could be mostly around your profile, what you did, why you did it and what did you learn ?

I am not sure my friend but I think it should ideally be about the substance. Since none of the recommender will have the time to write a 500 word essay for each question, I would think it should ideally be around 200-300 words, but then again its about the content with anecdotes than the word limit.

Were both your interviewers from backgrounds similar to yours?

If you have genuine reasons for asking, it wont hurt your chances.

No actually both were from a different background. I am in Mining/OEM space and one of them was an entrepreneur and the other one was in TMT Consulting. The only similarity was the geography i.e. both of them were based out of India.

Thanks for sharing. Both of mine are also not from similar professional backgrounds as mine. One is from India and one is an Indian based in Singapore

Yes, you can apply for upto 5 scholarships for which you are eligible (only after selection into the interview rounds). Each scholarship has a few essays ranging from 250 to 400 words so each one is itself a huge time commitment.
