I started my GMAT journey in October 2022... and was, as expected, full of ups and downs. What is my background?
I am an MS Telco Engineer from Spain, Male, 29 years old. I was jumping between industries and roles. I do product management and software engineering. I worked in big corps as banks and telco companies, software consultancy boutiques, helped big governmental organizations with international projects in remote areas, and also in the VC industry, however, the most significant experience was building my own company from 0 to 1 in the ed-tech space, reaching 400K students in 190 countries, and raising 7 figures on funding, leading a team of 12. As an entrepreneur and tech-product guy who discovered and read to Bill Aullet and Steve Blank, I dreamed of doing my MBA on M7. I came from a middle-class family, and I had to work during my degree studies to pay for my university and living, because my parents couldn't, so building your company from this position was challenging. The good thing is that I was surrounded by my amazing family, friends, girlfriend, mentors, and communities that trust and support me, enhance my values, and inspire me to go beyond. In 2022, I was in an M&A process with my company, to be acquired by a pre-IPO Nasdaq company, so I decided to start to work on the next step: my MBA journey.
My first Gmat ( classic ) was 650 I suffered a lot with Sentence correction.
I prepared using classes in Madrid; they helped me to understand the basics, but it wasn't sufficient to leverage my best. And they didn't help me with verbal.
Following my frustration and being stuck on verbal, I searched many sources and teachers.
e-gmat (
egmat) helped me to do an active lecture.
There were two heroes on my journey. Vivian (
https://gmatrockstar.com/) helped me with some verbal, and I improved a little to reach 680.
HOWEVER, the true change came from
hello@speedgmat.com (a recommendation from my TOEFL teacher). He changed my way of thinking about Quantitative and Data Analysis, making me reach 99% in Critical Reasoning every time and improving my Reading.
Finally, I scored 705!
