Does anyone have any tips for increasing mental stamina?
I keep getting f*cked over after I do a few questions, especially after the verbal gets impossible if you do well on the Quant (49+). I keep scoring 760 steady on GMATprep1,2, and PowerPrep. But I get way too many wrong for my liking, usually ~7 each part, after I get tired. How do I increase my mental stamina without resorting to speed or ephedra? =P
definately don't do speed or ephedra... its just a test dude and you are scoring really well. you are in the range where scoring higher won't even make much of a difference..
i might be showing my age, but this reminds me of the saved by the bell episode where the smart girl started taking uppers during finals week or something (lol!)
also, i think you are just mentally burning out, because scoring high on quant should have no effect on verbal. you start each section with the median score and go up or down accordingly. they are independent measurements using independent scales. GMAC tells you on the score report that the two scales aren't even comparable to one another (i.e. 48 Q = 85% 48V=99%) which makes sense since they are measuring different constructs.
my advice: ditto to everything hyperstorm said. i think you need a couple days off too.. you are "overtraining" as an athlete would say. i fyou are scoring 760 you can relax for a bit.
