Great success with Fortuna

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

It was excellent having an opportunity to work with Fortuna. The process was very structured and exceeded my expectations. For me at least, I found the constant contact and scheduling of meetings incredibly useful as I was so busy and Nonie was able to take some stress away.

Their greatest strength was their years of experience. I'm sure they've seen it all and having the ability to access that experience was extremely valuable and reassuring. I felt I was in safe hands.

They are truly experts in their fields and the interview prep I was provided was nearly identical to the real interview process I experienced. I would highly recommend to anyone thinking of applying to a business school.

I was thoroughly impressed by Fortuna Admissions. I would recommend Fortuna to anyone who is seeking admission to a competitive business school and wants to submit a strong, polished profile.

Two things really struck me in working with Fortuna:

1) They really get to know you before you dig deep into the application process. Judith became familiar with my background, to the extent that she pointed out that there was a cohesiveness to my education, professional background, and strengths that I wasn’t aware of. Not only did this significantly improve my application, but I can communicate in a more compelling way about my background.

2) They are extremely intuitive and detail-oriented. The feedback they gave me on my essays was extremely helpful. I wasn’t going into nearly enough detail in my essays—I mean, I thought I was!—but Judith pushed me to really get into the “why,” why I was passionate about my professional goals.

Finally, the other perk of working with Fortuna is that they know this business inside-and-out. There were things I learned about the application process and making the most of my application materials that I didn’t get from reading “MBA Admissions Strategy” by Avi Gordon or listening to dozens of MBA Podcaster podcasts or picking my MBA cousin’s brain.

Also, this sounds miniscule, but the one other thing that I really liked about working with Fortuna is that 80% of my anxiety about applying to business school went away. I knew that I was working with professionals, they were aware of my deadlines, and it was my job to stay organized and just focus my energy on writing great essays.

Successful reapplicant's great experience

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

Fortuna and their team have been incredibly helpful and wonderful to work with. As an international reapplicant who faced multiple "dings" last year, I decided to reach out to Fortuna for some advice this year. Their team showed me the weaknesses in my application, as well encouraged me to dig deeper into my stories so I could bring out my strengths. I'm so glad I got their help as I'm heading off to CBS next year!

I would definitely recommend them, especially for international students unfamiliar with the application process of top MBA programs. I would also recommend reapplicants to consider getting an initial consultation with Fortuna - this is most worthwhile.

Fortuna Admissions review for INSEAD

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

I will never forget that elation and relief I got the moment I received my acceptance into INSEAD. A year of hard work had paid off with the superb help of the Fortuna team!

Top tier Business schools are competitive and the difference between a good application and an exceptional one could be a ding. Business school applications are an exercise in self reflection, and often self doubt. Fortuna put together a clear plan and strategy to share the best of who I am for the Admissions Committee, but most importantly they gave me confidence that my background was a good fit for INSEAD. Once I got over the initial apprehension of using a consultant I have not looked back. I had a good understanding of the application process but they made everything seamless and took away the stress with their experience.

The team went above and beyond for me and I sometimes felt Nonie wanted me to get accepted more than I did! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Fortuna for any future applicants that have aspirations for the top business schools!

Fortuna knows how to get you across the line

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

I was very lucky to work with Amy and Caroline from Fortuna. Right from day one they kept me honest about my prospects, always highlighting both my strengths and weaknesses, which ensured that I did every bit under my control to the best of my abilities. I was quite amazed by the quality uplift I saw between draft 1 of the application and the final piece that was submitted to the schools. The best thing about Fortuna is that there is no limit to the number of reviews or edits, unlike with some other MBA application consulting firms; no matter how many times I updated my essays Amy always reviewed them for me. Further, the quick turnaround time and candour of each review really helped me prepare a solid application within compressed timeframes. They really know their stuff and ensure that every possible aspect of the one’s application/candidacy is well covered. I applied to 3 of FT’s top 10 MBA programs and received offers from 2 of them. I highly recommend Fortuna.

Started off well, but did have some confusion

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

Fortuna is a relatively new name to the admission consulting scene. Its selling point of having a team of former admission directors on board was what got me signed up for their services.

I started off with an introductory phone call with Matt, the founder. Matt was very knowledgeable on all the top business schools, describing the characteristics of each school's admission process relative to their traditions and geographic locations.

Fortuna assigned both a senior coach and coach to assist with the application process. Overall, both coaches did a great job in helping me to map out my ideas and tailor my essays and applications. In terms of interview preparation, Julie also gave great advice on articulating my story and answers.

However, the idea of having 2 coaches at once would sometimes lead to confusion and seemingly miscommunication among the 3 of us. Therefore, it would be better if there were a clear division of responsibility and communication from the get-go.

Nonetheless, I believe being able to see through the lenses of former admission directors is what make Fortuna unique, and I would definitely recommend them.

Thanks to Fortuna I got into INSEAD, my top-choice

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

I chose Fortuna because of their deep knowledge of the admission process. Besides, as a European applicant, I felt they had a strong edge on other admission consultants in being truly international, rather than focusing on the US.

At the beginning of the process, Fortuna helped me to build the confidence that I could aim to top MBA programmes, and to clearly assess the strengths of my profile to emphasise in my application.

Coming from a non-traditional background with multiple jobs, Fortuna guidance was extremely useful in selecting the right stories and addressing my weak points effectively. My essays improved significantly through multiple revisions, and having Caroline, Insead former Admission Director, to give a final evaluation before hitting ‘submit’ felt very reassuring!

Finally, the mock-interview before the real one really helped in knowing what to expect, and how to be ready for that last crucial step.

With all the time and effort I spent on my MBA application, I am glad with my decision of engaging Fortuna in helping me achieving such a great result!

Solid Services, Average pricing

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

I contracted Fortuna to do a roadmap for a potential future MBA to see what path would make the most sense given my general career direction. After many interviews and long conversations they provided me a full breakdown of the way admissions would view my strengths and weaknesses and what to improve on before applying.

Not only were the staff professional but the information and strategy they returned was comprehensive. At the end of the day the roadmap itself was very pricey, but not in any way above industry standard. Since I had this done considerably before applying for an MBA I was able to correct all the deficiencies they mentioned.

Overall they were very helpful in guiding me through the options in front of me. I ended up getting an MSc internationally in the end and now have a job that generally requires an MBA. Should I ever decide to return for an MBA I will be in an incredibly strong spot.

In the end while there are a lot of places that offer this kind of service, Fortuna was very easy and pleasant to work with. I would use them again for my application package too if I go that route.
