I am an non-native english speaker and verbal is my weakest section in GMAT. I started my preparation with Manhattan books (SC, CR, and RC) and completed the materials in three months. I scored an average of V34 in all the manhattan test. With an assumption that i can replicate the same performance in the actual GMAT, i took the exam in March 2014 and was totally upset with the score of 640 (Q49 V28).

This is when i realized that to score high in GMAT one must not only memorize the concepts but also learn how to apply those concepts. while searching for a course that teaches application skills, I read several positive reviews about e-gmat course and success stories of its members. Later i signed up for a free session which was too good. Immediately, i enrolled for Verbal live prep. Without a doubt, this course is best for non-native speakers. It gives lot of importance to application skill. My verbal score improved a lot in practice test (38 average in 6 test). I scheduled my GMAT on second week of December. With the knowledge gained from e-gmat, I am sure that I will be able to break 700 mark. I will recommend e-gmat courses for all non-native english speakers who want to improve their verbal score.

e-GMAT is an excellent source for preparing Verbal section of GMAT. The SC and CR are the best - with explanations to simple as well as complex concepts, and the step process of splitting the long sentence to different clauses and attacking each clause separately is awesome. In addition the audio explanation of OG solutions following e-gmat method is really helpful as it solidifies the SC concepts learned in different sections of the course. I hope e-gmat ADD's few more audio explanations of OG questions.
I will recommend this course to everyone who is preparing for GMAT or otherwise who wants to improve on his or her writing skills.

I was struggling with verbal prep and was looking for some professional help. I learned about e-GMAT course from Gmat club and I signed up with them in Dec 2013. The course is every well-structured specially for working professional like me. They have developed a logical and repeatable process (for example the SC 3-step process, CR pre-thinking) of solving problems. The weekend sessions are my favorite as they help me clear my doubts. Also I find the quizzes for topics/sub topics and the OG SC explanations very helpful….
I would recommend the course to anyone who is struggling in verbal..

Thanks to the e-GMAT team

I started my e-GMAT preparation without taking any course and following the Official Guides. It took me around 2 months to complete the entire GMAT course but when I have given the first official mock I scored a dismal 570-620 Range. I was initially very shocked as I was scoring more than 85% in OG questions.

Then I decided to check internet and landed in gmatclub. There I found similar stories of non-native english speakers. Then I stumbled upon e-GMAT course and decided to give a try as trial is free. Then after viewing few of their online content and free online classes, my total approach to handle GMAT preparation changed. Their scientific way to approach SC is incredible; it felt like doing a algebra as it only involves scientific approach and no-nonsense feel-good ear pleasing choices. CR was complete overhaul: their 3 step approach really makes the correct answer choice a cheese-cake provided the person has diligently followed their strategy. The most striking thing was that of RC as initially I though solving RC was a way of art and only students of English Literature can make it. However, e-GMAT has busted this myth and now after following their 7 important points in RC and way of approaching different types of RC questions, I have enhanced my RC accuracy from 55-60% to 90% above. I am very confident with their e-GMAT course and constantly scoring 700 + in official GMAT mocks(Verbal 37 +) and will give my GMAT soon. They have really changed my min set and hence my approach to solve the GMAT verbal section. I recommend all GMAT aspirants and especially to non-natives to give a try and you'll only benefit(provided you'll follow those courses with sincerity).

I am yet to give GMAT, however I can tell you about my experience. My GMAT journey started 3 months ago, when I was reading different reviews on gmatclub to find out which course material will suit my needs and current skill level. I was searching for things that can take concepts from scratch. I started with Sentence Correction Grail 3rd edition, which was a good place to start. Non-native speakers have a tendency to learn bad habits over the years. These habits range from poor understanding for sentence structure to giving less importance to meaning of the sentence. In golf, we talk about muscle memory and repeating a sequence many time to make that move a second nature. Similarly, unlearning wrong habits also requires equal efforts. I joined Verbal Live Prep as its trial session resonated with my preparation approach, which was to focus on sentence structure and meaning. Verbal Live Prep is a pretty straight forward structure - we have concepts along with practice application file and we have live sessions. Live sessions are pretty effective, solving question with a teacher helps in understanding concepts and problem solving skills. Understanding meaning of the sentence helped me improve my accuracy in senctence correction section. Prethinking is a good approach in CR and in long run saves time as well. In my case gains made in SC and CR helped me in RC; I developed better understanding of the passages. I am very satisfied with the content and the way it is presented. Audio-video presentation of concepts makes it less tiring. Concepts and question range from easy to moderate to difficult. This gradation makes learning swift and less dauting. I would highly recommend Verbal Live Prep.

I have written my GMAT twice (over 3 year period) with great scores in Quants section but mediocre score in verbal both the times. So I decided to go through formal training to improve my verbal section score for my final GMAT attempt. I attended the free session provided by all the major test prep companies but none of their classes went beyond the split strategy (already described in official guide) for sentence correction. Since I did not see a science or algorithm behind the approach, I did not enroll in those courses.

Then I came across eGMAT course in gmat club promotional emails and reluctantly I opted to take their SC1 Approach to Sentence Correction class. The section started off as usual with 4 questions being presented and time given to solve each. Then they introduced the "eGMAT method" for solving SC questions. Initially I did not believe in the method as it sounded time-consuming but later realized the science behind their approach. As I started practicing their method, I have noticed by accuracy improve.

I had to stop my preparations for personal reasons but have would definitely go back to g-GMAT for my verbal preparation. I have not yet checked out their RC and CR sections but I am hoping for a great class their too.

The few live classes I attended have given me the feel of active class room stuff and I would strongly recommend anyone (especially non-native English speakers) with the live prep course. All other GMAT courses in US seem to be Quants centric which is the reason I like eGMAT.

The price is competitive and there is no reason to skip this course. Try a demo class (offered free) and see for yourself. Once I complete my training and do my GMAT, I will post with my scores as testimony.

I would recommend E-gmat to students who speak English as their second language. The course material seems to be designed from the ground up to cover all the basics that would be required to achieve a good score in GMAT.
The provided course material is very rich in content and easy to understand. The instructors are pretty knowledgeable and help you with your queries. The online assignments available on e-GMAT are a great tool to monitor your own progress. The good thing about the course is that it also allows you to use a grockit for practice. I have personally seen a lot of improvement in my sentence correction abilities by using the e-GMAT method and techniques. Before taking this course I would directly jump on to the answers after reviewing the question for a while but now I am spending much more time analyzing the question for its meaning first by breaking it down into appropriate components.
I haven’t taken the GMAT yet as I have a few sections that I need to go over, but I am sure e-GMAThas made a tremendous difference in my preparation for the GMAT.

Hi All,

I personally like the e- GMAT course structure and the way it is organized. It has a right blend of required concepts and practice material for GMAT preparation.

Moreover, it doesn't leave any stones unturned in covering GMAT verbal topics. At first I thought reading comprehension and IR are the topics which no one can teach but to my contrary the course has such a beautiful strategies for all the section which when practiced diligently I am sure there is no way that one would not get his/her dream score in verbal.

Furthermore, I guess there is no better course structured for non-natives than e-GMAT as It helps right from the beginning i.e. with the level one is comfortable with and take him/her further.

The Application files, Verbal workshop and Interactive live sessions helps in aiding one to clarify doubts if any and to add to that the faculties proven track record helps in pin pointing the pain area or the common pit falls which when known helps one to rectify mistakes which might have occurred.

So overall I think its a beautiful course aimed at helping non natives and it does justice to all its claim.

I have gone through a few books and online classes before turning up to E-GMAT and finally I found what I was looking for - A Framework to approach, think, and tackle each question effectively. Especially it has boosted my confidence with RC and shaped my thinking and in turns accuracy with CR. The course is very effective and time bound with loads of practice questions and explanations. The support from e-GMAT is also very prompt. I'm yet to take my GMAT test but feeling a lot of confidence and hoping for the best outcome.

Thanks to e-GMAT Team for helping me prepare for my GMAT!!

As I had consistently been a top scorer in English, both at school and university, I always thought that I had a good command over the language & was very confident. My confidence was clearly shaken when I took the GMAT for the first time and scored way below my expectations. Around the same time I heard about e-GMAT and how they focused only on Verbal for non-natives unlike most test prep companies. I attended a few trial sessions and loved the methodology that they employed to not only ensure that you learn the concepts fast but also to recall & use it when the time comes. I bought the Verbal Live Prep program and was offered access to a few other question pools too.
They are crisp & clear in communication and one can attend many sessions as they wish to, to get the concepts right. The faculty is available offline too and often just an email away. Most importantly they know and address the most common problems that all non-natives face while attacking Verbal.
Due to a hectic work commitment, I had to take a break in my preparation. When I told them about this, they offered to extend my program too.
If you are a non-native and wish to ace the Verbal, this is definitely the place to be in.
