Best GMAT Prep I Used

Strengths:

TTP strengths are a regimented study plan designed for a learner's specific goals, time constraints, and background, a massive test bank with in-depth video and written descriptions, and a learning environment that emulates that of the actual test.

Would make the product better:

TTP is great as is, but an addition that I would have found useful is an integrated TTP-specific forums page where students could interact and learn from each other.

TTP is an amazing program. It provides guidance not only on which subjects to study but also on how to study these subjects. Before using TTP, I was misguided on the level of proficiency I needed to achieve my desired score. I was unsure of my study plan and its effectiveness, and this uncertainty led me to doubt myself even though I was studying diligently. Having a tailored plan from the TTP experts gave me confidence that I was on the path to success.

TTP includes everything from easy-to-follow instruction and question breakdowns to non-content related prep, such as how to address test anxiety and how to think about question timing. I used other prep materials in the past, but TTP by far was the most effective for me.

Target Test Prep - An Excellent Fundamental Course

Strengths:

This course is going to give you all the fundamentals you need to succeed. In particular, this course is going to strongly improve your Quant fundamentals, especially if it has been a while since you last took a fundamental Quant class. The product also has a great interface to follow you, so you don't need to do planning. You just need to give yourself the appropriate time to follow the course plan and if you do so, and are calculated in taking more time on topics you struggle with, the Target Test Prep course will provide you with the right topic coverage and guidance to succeed.

Would make the product better:

When I took the course, the GMAT classic was transitioning to the GMAT Focus and the Data Insights section of the GMAT was newer so the content in the course was limited in comparison to the rest of the modules. Nonetheless, it gave me everything I needed to make substantial improvements in Data Insights scores.

Target Test Prep is a great course. It is long and some complain about this but it is long for a good reason - it is thorough. Every fundamental I faced on the GMAT Focus, from all sections, I was exposed to in the Target Test Prep course.

Target Test Prep really thrives for those who are determined to do well, will stick with a plan, and avoid shortcuts (hint: there's no shortcut to doing well on the GMAT or any standardized test). In terms of a fundamental course that can be self paced and as someone who has traditionally never achieved an above average score on any standardized exams (grade school standardized exams, SAT and LSAT) and having taken different formats of prep courses (instructor led/self paced/hybrid), I can say with confidence for a self motivated individual who can learn on their own, Target Test Prep will not disappoint. I've never encountered a prep course that focuses on perfecting the fundamentals as much as Target Test Prep, and this genuinely paid off the most for me.

Some differences in my experience that will likely be different than others experiences include the following. I had a decent Verbal score to begin with because I had previously prepped for the LSAT and GMAT Verbal was somewhat similar to LSAT Verbal. Therefore, I had a bit of practice with similar questions. Nonetheless, I still improved my Verbal score between my first practice exam and the one Official GMAT Focus attempt I did. The last note is you must give yourself time to complete the course (or at least come as close as possible to completing the course). Admittedly, I did not complete the course entirely as I was in a time crunch to apply to my preferred programs before a due date. I spent 4.5 months between starting my Target Test Prep course and writing the Official GMAT Focus. If you don't complete as much of the course as possible, aka the fundamentals they introduce, you will likely be missing out on valuable fundamentals that you may encounter.

TTP is Great for Foundations (Especially on the Quant Side)

Strengths:

Quant foundations

Would make the product better:

Verbal explanations can be improved

TTP is a great resource to use for GMAT prep. Would recommend to supplement this with official questions and videos from the GMATNinja verbal and DI series

Great material to go through for quant related topics, lots of questions, incredible depth of materials and explanations. Some questions in the material are also slightly harder than the actual GMAT which helps you prepare well for any unexpected hard questions on the actual test.

The verbal section dives a bit too deep into question types too quickly, and I feel there is opportunity to add material that helps students holistically identify traps and choose between the final 2 (most confusing) answer choices. It's useful to start off with TTP for a topic like this, and then supplement with other resources if you feel your score is plateauing

TTP All The Way

Strengths:

The Quant sections were very step-by-step and consequently easy to follow. I never felt overwhelmed, even when learning some concept I could not remember at all from high school or middle school. Examples embedded within each lesson were also helpful for solidifying skills.

Verbal sections were similarly helpful in their step-by-step nature. Emphasized all of the different variations of verbal questions that showed up on the test. Tons of practice and examples too.

Would make the product better:

Not much to suggest here!

I absolutely recommend this product. I would have been lost in my GMAT studying without it, and its detailed structure made it easy to create a study plan to follow. It covered Quant topics in detailed, manageable steps, and I was able to easily relearn concepts I hadn't seen in years. There are tons of practice problems to work through at different levels of difficulty, which really allowed me to focus on what I was struggling with. The platform also gives test-taking advice and strategies, which are supplemented throughout Quant, Verbal, and Data Insights lessons. It has additional tools such as flashcards as well, which were especially useful for memorizing equations and such.

Best course ever

Strengths:

I loved how thorough TTP was. The other courses simply did not have the same depth when it came to explaining quant.

Would make the product better:

I think the strategies from the verbal section are too long. It would be nice to have an accelerated verbal option.

TTP was amazing and helped me get my dream score. I went from 555 to 675 with their help!

When I first started studying, I knew my biggest challenge would be the quant section. On my first practice test I got 25th percentile in quant. On my first official test (before finding TTP), I got 35th percentile on quant. TTP ended up helping me get my quant score up to 71st percentile, which when paired with the rest of my score, helped me score in the 96th percentile overall!

What mainly separates them from the others is that they assume you know nothing about math at the beginning. This was crucial for me because I had not taken a math course in 6 years!

Strengths:

Extremely detailed, well organized categories of quant, verbal, and data. Customizable study plan based on desired score.

Would make the product better:

I would only recommend more practice questions! I did the maximum amount possible, but would've loved to try more.

TTP was essential for me to achieve such a large increase in my score. Having no prep and jumping into TTP, I completed the course and felt confident regarding content going into my practice exam phase. The lessons and study plan in TTP are extremely comprehensive. At no point did I ever feel as though I hadn't seen any kind of new information on the GMAT official guides and exam. Scott and the instructors are very responsive and on GMAT Club, I find their explanations the most understandable as well. With TTP I was able to jump from a 505 first practice exam score to a 645 GMAT Focus official score. Thank you TTP!

Amazing product with thorough resources to succeed.

Strengths:

Very thorough course that it split up into sections based on types of questions and skills needed to succeed. This helps fine tune specific skills and understand weakness areas to focus on.

Would make the product better:

I think the course was a little dense in the sense of it taking quite a while. A lot of that was it being a little wordy.

Such a great and thorough class that really explores every area of the GMAT Focus. I started this class with little knowledge of how the test worked or what it would be asking, and after going through TTP I felt totally confident and prepared to succeed. My score went from a 575 to a 645 in 6 months! I would recommend, and be sure to track mistakes to get the most out of it.

I would emphasize that this course takes 100+ hours to complete, and trying to do it any faster than this will not be helpful. Be sure to be thorough! Best of luck.

Strengths:

1) Extremely thorough curriculum that helps you to understand the fundamentals of all quant concepts as well as the methods of thinking required to perform well
2) Huge library of practice problems that are very similar to the ones on the actual GMAT focus exam
3) Comprehensively covers all types of questions that you can expect to see as well as all the more advanced variants of common questions
4) Excellently designed course that understands that guided repeated practice is the key to mastering difficult topics

Would make the product better:

I really only have good things to say about this course

I started my GMAT focus journey back in December 2023, taking my first ever official practice test with no prior preparation. I scored a 635 with a glaring weakness - quant. As a senior in my undergraduate studies planning to apply to deferred MBA programs, I only had a few months to practice and take the actual exam. After mulling over my options, I decided that TTP was overwhelmingly recommended as the best resource for improving your GMAT score (I believe this to be the case as well). I spent about 2 months on studying from early January to early March, completing the course in just under 200 hours. I was already very confident in my verbal abilities so I opted to skip most of TTP's verbal section (However, I did do a few sections and it was also very comprehensive and similar to the actual GMAT focus). I took the actual GMAT focus exam a few days ago and fortunately received a score of 755. TTP is the only resource I used and I'm beyond happy with how effective it was. I genuinely believe that TTP is the only resource that you need outside of the official GMAT focus questions and practice tests. In my case, I didn't even practice with official questions as I felt that the TTP questions were sufficient.

Strengths:

Its a great solution for people who have no clear idea how to start, the content is well organized, and the study plan is realistic and helpful. I truly believe that the short examples are really helpful in making sure that you're understanding what you're studying. Overall the product is a one-stop solution.

Would make the product better:

I think that it could be great to have even more examples on the verbal section, the content was great, but I'd like to see more examples and more practice from this section.

Target Test Prep (TTP) proved to be an invaluable resource in my GMAT preparation, especially for enhancing my speed and accuracy in the quantitative section. TTP offers an incredibly structured and comprehensive course, breaking down complex mathematical concepts into understandable lessons. The verbal preparation is also great because it teaches you the best ways to approach and answer these types of questions. The course's progression from basic to advanced topics solidified my foundational knowledge, allowing for a smoother transition into tackling higher difficulty problems.

What sets TTP apart is its vast repository of practice questions and tests, closely mirroring the GMAT's style and difficulty. This extensive practice significantly improved my problem-solving speed and helped fine-tune my accuracy, teaching me efficient methods to approach each question. Moreover, TTP's analytics offered deep insights into my performance, highlighting areas for improvement and tracking my progress over time.

Strengths:

TTP takes a holistic approach and has a very thorough guideline on GMAT. While working a full time job and being away from studies, TTP is just what I needed to make sure I had complete preparation

Would make the product better:

Adaptive scoring can be added to make the experience more authentic and more mocks would be beneficial

I would recommend TTP for anyone starting their GMAT prep. It has everything and the course structure is excellent. The quant section is great for anyone out of touch with maths. For the verbal, I found the answer explanations to be on point and especially the chapter tests were very helpful in reassessing problems and readjusting my prep.
In addition to that, please use the custom test feature as it allows you to make sure you can target your weakest segments. I got over my quant problems with this feature and was able to pin point a lot of knowledge gaps.
In summary, do not only go for the highest difficulty level questions and dedicate time to the course, It does pay off.
