Congratulations!
I have heard great things about the Kennedy MPP program but I also have heard that the graduates done this is really have a very logical path to employment. So I think you read on it is good and accurate.
In terms of the importance of business school, you get so busy after graduating and everyone goes all over the place so the value of being near the other alumni decreases significantly overtime. Your school really matters for your first job, and especially now when everything is virtual, you can easily call your classmate anywhere in the world, and people will usually make more effort to see you when you’re visiting town rather than when you live right there. What I’m trying to say, is the value of having the university right there will decline over the first few years and five years later, it will be a distant memory and 10 or 20 years later, it will be as memorable as your undergraduate experience. However, the people in relationships you make will endure and remain and will be the highlight.
But if the job you’re most likely to get or start is in Bay Area, then you kinda have to be there to recruit and network. The most interesting jobs are always referrals.
