Got it! In that case I would probably recommend INSEAD as you would have ability to bug and engage the INSEAD alum base in SE Asia and Singapore. However, it is hard to recruit into SE Asia while being in France or the US. It is not like you can't but it is just hard because the hiring manager will be confused why you are applying and wondering if you submitted to the wrong continent/country/etc and so on. You also won't have a work permit in SE Asia to work on and so the company will have to get your work permit in place BEFORE you can start. I am not familiar enough with work permits in Singapore for example but I doubt ESSEC will help much there and attending the INSEAD may be more attractive as you will have a 1-year or something along those like work permit to help you get some breathing room. Hope it helps.

P.S. Sorry these are all logistical issues and seemingly not so critical but that's what gets you in the end. Consulting companies don't care what classes you took as much as can you present and represent them and do you have the right work permit.

Thank you so much for your insights!! I appreciate it, it is important to be cognizant of logistical aspects like these and that is something I am not yet familiar with, so thank you for that. For ESSEC I will be starting in the Singapore campus, but true that INSEAD would be better for connecting with alumni in SEA. It really hurts to drop Booth though... I'm not sure if I can bring myself to do it but I have around 1.5 weeks to think about!

Oh 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
I did mot realize ESSEC had a Singapore campus. Maybe you shouldn’t be listening to my advice 😂

Sorry, I should’ve put a big disclaimer that I’m not a MiM. or Master person. Serves me right for not doing that.

In that case, I don’t have strong knowledge of the programs and agree that it would be tough to drop Booth but frankly new programs are always bumpy and like alumni and employer connections and all those things. It’s possible they will be executed and done really well and booth has a strong name and undergraduate and MBA space but it will be tricky to connect with those alumni since you don’t share their experience. So it is always recommended to go to school in the country and region you want to work in.

PS. Your masters or NBA doesn’t really matter as much a number of years after graduation because that’s not what defines your employment and that’s not what you’ll be recruiting through. Hopefully by that time would be leveraging your professional network and your professional accomplishments so if you’re thinking booth would help you in 3 to 5 years, That power starts to decline the moment you graduate.

Go to Booth. If you are not fluent in French you won't find a great job in France. Good luck :)
